Step 1: Choose a Domain name
The first thing to consider is a domain name you want to use. For you to make your business available and visible to public and to be able to sell your product to the intending Customers, you need to have a web presence. So you must first choose the domain name you want to use.
Since what you will be offering is about bulk sms, I will advice you include the term ‘sms’ to any preferred domain name you choose. This is to make your website easily optimized for the keyword ‘bulksms’ without much SEO (search engine optimization) activities. Though choosing a domain name which has ‘sms’ included does not automatically makes your sms website search engine friendly, SEO is another Subject on its own which you need to learn to improve your websites SEO.
Step 2: Register The Domain Name
After you have decided the domain name to ues, proceed to register the name. Though there are many domain name registrars out there but only few are very reliable. But if you are not registering with me, you can choose from these top domain registrars- www.hostgator.com and www.namecheap.com. Once you visit the website, search for the domain name you intend to use until you get an available domain name of your choice.
Step 3: Host The Domain Name
After you have register the domain name you cannot access it online until it is hosted. Web hosting is all about acquiring a space on the internet to keep your website files. So after registering your domain name you need to host the website. My recommendation is that you use the same company that did the domain name registration to handle the web hosting in order to avoid technical errors, but does not mean you cannot host with a different cmpany, all you have to do if you host with a different company other than the one that register your domain is to get the Name Servers of the host company and put it in your domain.

You can also use the companies recommended above in the domain name registration. The cPanel login details of your website will be sent to you from the web hosting company after successfully hosting your domain.
Step 4: Design The SMS Website
To design your bulk sms website, login to your website cPanel using the login details obtained from your hosting company. For a better understanding, i will be showing the pictorial explanation of each steps here;
- Go to www.yoursitename.com/cpanel, enter your username and password and then click on the ‘Login’ button as shown in the figure below.
- After successfully login into the control panel, the cPanel dashboard will display for you to navigate through the various tools available. Scroll down the cPanel page until you get to softaculous Apps Installer section.
- The sms portal will be designed using joomla 3 since the previous joomla 1.5 and 2.5 versions initially used are outdated and joomla 3 is more secured. So, under the Softaculous Apps Installer section click on "joomla 2.5" and you will be taken to the page shown below;
- Click on "Install" and the next page you will see is as shown below;
On this page fill the fields as stated here;
Choose the version you want to install: Select joomla 3
Choose Protocol: Leave the default protocol at http://
Choose Domain: This is the domain where you want to install your sms website.
In Directory: Leave it blank to install on the main directory of your website domain.
Database Name: The name you wish to give your database, you may leave it as it is
Site Name: Put the name of your website here e.g debrensms.com
Site Description: This is where you will put the slogan of your website
Admin Username: This is the username you will be using to login to the administrative end of your website
Admin password: This is the password you will be using to login to the administrative end of your website
Real Name: You can leave this as Administrator
Admin Email: Provide the email address to receive any system generated emails
After carefully filling the above, click on "Install" and wait for the successful installation message that will come up after few seconds.
Now that you have successfully install your joomla website, the next step is to design the website and put all the necessary information on it. Note that the joomla website you have just installed has two ends-The front end and the back end. The front end is what the world will see when they enter your domain name in their browser (e.g www.yourdomain.com) and the back end is the administrative end of the website where you as the administrator of the website will only have access to, it is the back end that you will be adding whatever information you want any visitor to your website to see or any function you want your website to have.

Here Is How To Install The SMS Application
Anything that is not pre-installed in the joomla app is known as an extension. Meaning you want to extend the functionality of the basic joomla. You must have earlier purchase the application from Afrisoft (Visit http://smsportalcreator.com for details of how to purchase this software). So after you must have purchase the software and they sent it to you in a .zip file format, login to the administrative end, Click on ‘Extensions’ and a drop down menu will appear. Then click on ‘Extension Manager’
Click on ‘Browse’ and a pop up will appear to enable you locate the SMS Component you have purchase wherever you saved it on your computer.
Click on ‘Upload & Install’ so that it can be added to Component directory.
Joomla automatically identify extensions as they are being installed and redirect them to their respective directory. After a successful installation of the sms application it will be redirected to the ‘Component’ section of joomla.
To access the Sms App
Go to ‘Components’ in the administrative end and click on the application, in the example the name of the application is ‘SPC High Earner’ if you purchase the latest version the name will be different from this.
The configuration and setting of the component is done at the frnt end of the joomla website. Just visit your website and login with the same admin username and password, then you will have access to the admin settings where you can perform different settings and it is where you will add the gateway you want to use to send bulk sms.
